Station Profile, Reach and Listenership:
Bombo Radyo Dagupan is the undisputed Number One AM Radio Station in Pangasinan. It embraces all economic classes. Its signal also reaches La Union, Nueva Ecija, Mt. Province, Zambales and Tarlac.
Bombo Dagupan is the strongest radio station in Pangasinan ever. It served as Command Post during the horrible devastation brought by the 1990 earthquake that struck the cities of Dagupan, Baguio and Cabanatuan. There was much mourning and wailing. Residents were more concerned to know whether their love ones were alive and safe and it did not matter much the collapse of infrastructures and houses.
At that time that power supply and communication facilities were down, BomboDagupan served as the safe haven of people. The station operated 24 hours non-stop for almost a month using its generator set. Being the only radio station that sustained its operation in those hard times, people reached their family members through its facilities.
Parents who had children studying in Baguio City, one of the three (3) cities devastated, trod down to the station to contact their children through one of network’s signature practices- stations linked-up. Through a hook-up broadcast with its sister station, DZWX Bombo Radyo Baguio, students and relatives communicated.
Moreover, Bombo Dagupan served as the command post of the local government of the province of Pangasinan. No less than the governor used the station’s broadcasts in reporting the daily situation of the province to the president of the country.
Dr. Rogelio M. Florete, President and Chief Executive Officer at that time, now Chairman of the network, provided Bombo Dagupan with truckloads of relief goods which were distributed to the most affected people in the city.
